I am originally from London but now live in the West Country. In 2016 I decided to concentrate more on local talent and audiences. So I set up my own theatre company, Front Stalls Productions, with the aim of staging entertaining plays; when possible using cast, crew and businesses local to the South West. Not an easy project but fun.
MY PORTFOLIO SO FAR!
I’ll be Here (Theatre and Radio Play)
A familiar story in a strange setting. A woman meets the ‘Right Person, Wrong Place, Wrong Time’.
Set at the beginning of the millennium, it also resonates with life and experiences of World War II. The story might suspend reality but the characters are very real, and driven by their own needs.
The Celebrated Rosie Slade. (Stage Play and Novel)
Set in 1909 it’s the story of Rosie Slade a 16-year-old parlour maid determined to make it as a music hall singer. Rosie wants to be celebrated, have admirers and follow in the footsteps of her idol, Marie Lloyd. Her ambition would be applauded today but for the 1900s it is impressive and brave. Rosie doesn’t let the social norms of the day stop her from…. Well, anything she sets her mind to.
Early Viewing Recommended (Stage Play)
A dark comedy about an estate agent’s obsession with Edwardian Terraces and the young woman who owns one. Set at the turn of the millennium the play sets out to lampoon the language and obsessive lifestyle of the professional estate agent. ‘It was the best of times it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of the Estate Agent’
A Long Life, Art and A Dream (Novella, Audio and e-book)
1854, in a grand house built to offer a safe home for a bruised and battered family, two gentleman, enjoy an informal dinner party. Lucas Bartock Whitby doesn’t get many visitors but Richard Bentley is enjoyable company as they talk of art, politics and gossip, drinking very acceptable red wine.
Originally from Hungary, Lucas is mindful of his… should we say cultural heritage.
A gothic tale of family, culture, blood and paint, and a very big obsession with the Pre-Raphaelites.
Temp Interruptus (Radio Sitcom)
Benchmark Recruitment is left to daughter-in-law Petra. Ex-husband Roger, back from corrupting an MI6 database (don’t ask) wants in.
Add to that a bunch of loyal temps each with a dream job – unfortunately when they wake up, they’re working somewhere else. And you can forget about not choosing your family – you can’t choose your workmates either.
The Interview.
Christmas film script in progress.
Set in Alaska the script is aimed at companies such as Hallmark and the growing popularity of the seasonal, warm but sometimes supernatural TV Christmas film market.
